What does Softlead do?

It is a marketplace for software applications. At Softlead we help end users to find suitable software applications as their businesses needs. In their portfolio, are software applications dedicated to project management, human resources, research, inventory, document/clients management and many others. Softlead provides also desired expertise and implementation cooperating with more than 250 companies. Softlead to grow further is now looking for a partner in UK.

Apart from luck what were the other key ingredients for your success?

I enjoy playing chess. Chess trains and nourishes my mind, my patience and it is a reflection of what I do with Softlead at this moment. I also love reading books of different kinds, they travel with me everywhere and since last three years mainly business management and programming books occupy my shelf space. Learning from the team and everyone around also adds to the success

How was your experience in finding a suitable investor?

It was a difficult process with lots of stages involved prior to commitment. We feel we were at the right place at the right time as we were the first in the Romanian market with a unique service offering.

What is your advice to young women?

I want to share my with women peers that success should not be the only objective;

  • Do not venture into business with a mindset of being popular and rich overnight or because you hate your existing workplace, but because you have an idea and you are eager to validate it and enjoy its acceptance.
  • Don’t keep the idea just for you, share it with your friends and family
  •  Think globally, for example in Romania we do not have access to excess monetary flow and which forces us to think outside of the box.
  • Entrepreneurship is a big responsibility and requires lots of flexibility as not all the days are same and its part of the game.
  • Having your own company also means a lot of sacrifices; you cannot enjoy regular weekends and demands long work hours. However, being tired is different here, it brings you immense satisfaction and strengths knowing yourself better and always have ample opportunities to meet amazing people for different purpose.
  • You increase your breadth of knowledge and experience. I am a communications specialist but it doesn’t mean that I have to be doing just that, I do finance, administration, sales. You also have to do a lot to be part of the team, you are not the boss as you also learn every day from the others – it was the key to success for Softlead.
