April 15, 2019

The 4th edition of the Fintech Awards Luxembourg has officially opened to applications today. Rising stars from the fintech start-up scene are invited to apply for several prizes. It is not only a great opportunity for them to build their network and credibility with senior decision-makers and CEOs from the Luxembourg financial services community, but also provides them with real and tangible opportunities to acquire new clients for their solutions and businesses.

Pascal Denis, co-organiser of the awards and Head of Advisory at KPMG Luxembourg, explains: “Now in its 4th edition, we see that the awards are getting traction not only in Luxembourg but also abroad. The rise of Fintech and the importance start-ups have taken in the financial industry is not to be demonstrated anymore. The competition is open to Fintech start-ups who are eager to share their projects with prominent jury members, some of the savviest decision-makers, investors, bankers and entrepreneurs the Luxembourg financial industry has to offer. It is also an opportunity to meet other start-ups, exchange ideas, experience Luxembourg’s buzzing fintech ecosystem and get tips from local fintech experts. The past edition saw some of the best start-ups rise to now recognised and established fintech players.”

Mr. Denis adds: “In our opinion, what drives the awards is our approach. We want to unleash innovative solutions, attract disruption and offer inventive technologists a prestigious platform where they can meet with experienced financial houses. This combination is the future of the industry.”

Nasir Zubairi, CEO of the LHoFT comments: “This year we aim to attract even more international fintech companies along with Luxembourg ones to participate; firms that are looking for opportunities to work with institutions from the Luxembourg financial centre. The 2019 Fintech Awards will really emphasize the access to and collaboration with the local ecosystem and the plethora of leading financial firms within it. The 20 fintech firms that will be selected for the awards will be connected to relevant stakeholders in Luxembourg to create synergies, create value and foster innovation. It is not just a fintech competition; it is about engagement and driving real solutions that will shape the financial services world of tomorrow.”

Twenty start-ups will be selected to go through to the competition day on 19 June, where they will be whittled down to eight finalists who will compete to be Fintech Start-up of the Year.
