Luxembourg Internet Days 2018 – Meet the experts!

On November 13 & 14, LU-CIX will settle at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce for its annual Luxembourg Internet Days event. While the design of the event remains the same with two days for two focused topics for the ICT ecosystem, the topics change each year in order to cover sector priorities.

October 19, 2018

The first day will focus on Network Security and Monitoring. Industry experts such as Mr Andy Burghes, VP at Netscout, Mr Paul Rascagneres from Talos, together with Mr Harnisch from Kentik are announced as keynote speakers. The risk management and crisis mitigation expert, Mrs Rayna Stamboliyska, will also share valuable input about the NIS directive and will moderate a round table dedicated to this looming applicable directive.

On the same day, the event will host the official launch of the LUNOG (Luxembourg Network Operator Group) platform, in the presence of RIPE (Regional Internet Registries – managing IP addresses for Europe, the Middle East and parts of Asia), the London Internet eXchange, LINX, and the RESTENA Foundation, the very high-speed network for the education and research community of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. On day two of the event, November 14, experts will discuss Cloud. Mr Thomas Blood, AWS EMEA Enterprise Strategist, will travel especially from the US to Europe to talk about challenges and opportunities in Cloud adoption. A panel discussion will give the opportunity to examine the growing threats and possible solutions related to Dark Data and Shadow IT for IT departments of companies of any size and from any sector.

Several workshop sessions will take place during the two days in parallel with the conferences and the more than 50 booths Expo area.

CIRCL will unveil its brand new D4 (Distributed Denial of Service Detection Devices) project that will focus on darknet data exploitation techniques on the one hand and on the network capture processing activities and DDoS malware analysis on the other hand.

MNKS will offer a one-hour “GDPR Q&A” opportunity to help companies with the practical questions when it comes to the implementation of some of their new obligations with an open discussion sharing of experience and methodologies.

With the “Deep-Dive sessions”, several providers will propose free to access 40 minutes focused sessions, in a privatized room, to take time show up their particular products, solutions, specificities and share expertise with interested visitors.

The complete program is available online.

More than 1.100 people are expected over the two days and there will be many networking opportunities. The event will propose free of charge to any attendee, an innovative tool combing a clear view on the two-day program with a business speed-dating tool (a LU-CIX favorite)to help attendees pre-arrange 15-minute business meetings with other attendees during the event. Networking cocktails at the end of both days will also be the perfect opportunity to meet in an informal atmosphere.
