Sopra Steria group is a European leader in consulting, digital services, and software development. It supports a large number of organisations, in all sectors of activity, in their digital transformation. Sopra Steria provides consulting services in Luxembourg for more than 15 years. “In Luxembourg, we are today a team of 150 employees offering business consulting, solution integration, infrastructure management and cyber security services“, explains Gabriel Thiercelin, Business Unit Director since January. He shares the leadership of Sopra Steria Luxembourg with Tobias Stolz, the new Country Manager.

Complementary duo

At the head of the Group’s Luxembourg subsidiary, the two men complement each other well. “I have been working at Sopra Steria for about twelve years. Within the group, I have been able to multiply my experience in various fields, from product management to architecture, including infrastructure management and software development. For a long time, I contributed to large-scale projects for European institutions,” explains Tobias Stolz. The combination of this in depth knowledge of Sopra Steria’s resources and Gabriel’s experience on the Luxembourg market is the strength of our new leadership“. Gabriel Thiercelin has been working in the IT sector in Luxembourg for more than 20 years. He has worked in a variety of sectors: banking, commerce, industry, telecommunications, and energy.

Supporting both the private and public sectors

Drawing on the group’s substantial resources, Sopra Steria Luxembourg intends to further penetrate the local market by supporting transformation projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from infrastructure upgrades to the deployment of new tools adapted to its customers’ business needs. “An important part of our business is developing with the European institutions present locally,” explains the new Country Manager. “We want to continue this development while maintaining a balance between the public and private sectors. Today, we are hosting a bank, offering many IT services, as well as other financial players. We also support various private players. We want to strengthen this dynamic at the private level but also invest in supporting public players. Beyond the European institutions, we believe that we also have a lot to contribute to Luxembourg’s public administration in its digital transformation.”

Competence centres in Luxembourg

One of the driving forces behind Sopra Steria’s development in Luxembourg is the development of competence centres. “By bringing together employees who share technical and/or business expertise in a particular field, such as cyber security, the cloud or even around specific business lines, we are implementing approaches that are relevant to market needs”, explains Gabriel Thiercelin. “This way, we can more easily innovate, share knowledge, and develop new ones. These competence centres enable us to support our customers over the long term, with real proactivity.”

Solutions adapted to everyone

Operating on a very large scale, the Sopra Steria group has developed expertise in many fields and a strong understanding of business challenges in a wide variety of sectors. “It is this knowledge that we want to bring to the Luxembourg market, ensuring that we deliver tailored solutions that support everyone’s business. The experience we have acquired with major players, particularly through transformation projects, infrastructure evolution and cloud-based projects, can now benefit the greatest number of people“, Tobias Stolz assures.

In addition, by developing synergies with other group entities active in the development of business solutions, such as Sopra Banking Software, Sopra HR Software and Sopra Real Estate Software, Sopra Steria is able to widen its portfolio. This is certainly another great asset of this service provider.

Tobias Stolz concludes: “We see Sopra Steria Luxembourg as a local provider with a strong BeNeLux and European background to support our customers in their existing solutions and their upcoming digital transformation“.
